The University of Redlands women's water polo team
improved to 2-0 in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference (SCIAC) competition with a 10-1 dismantling of the
University of La Verne at Las Flores Park.
The Bulldogs gained a hat trick from senior center Sam Greenawalt
(Riverside, CA), while freshman center Jamie Paul (Sandy, UT)
contributed two scores. In addition, freshman driver Kelli Moy
(Honolulu, HI), sophomore driver Chandler Weeks (Palm Desert, CA),
freshman driver Taylor Johnson (Long Beach, CA), junior driver
Katelyn Pine (Laguna Niguel, CA), and freshman center Jaime Nippert
(Gresham, OR) added one goal apiece.
Between the pipes, junior goalkeeper Whitney Schieler (Porterville,
CA) protected the Bulldog net with 11 saves.
Redlands (10-13, 2-0 SCIAC) hosts Occidental College at the
Thompson Aquatic Center on Saturday at 11 a.m.
