The University of Redlands women's water polo team had little
trouble dispatching Caltech in Southern California Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference (SCIAC) action Wednesday evening in Pasadena,
winning by a final tally of 19-0.
Freshman driver Moana Tuipulotu (Lahaina, HI), sophomore driver
Casey Sripramong (Glendale, CA) and freshman driver Jill Stein
(Palm Desert, CA) each recorded a hat trick, while freshman drivers
Kara Parker (Houston, TX) and Georgia Tunioli (Riverside, CT) and
freshman center Mandy Nussbaum (Bellevue, WA) all offered a pair of
scores. Sophomore center Jaime Nippert (Gresham, OR), sophomore
driver Joy Corona (Lake Bluff, IL), junior driver Tory Haynes
(Valley Center, CA) and freshman driver Jessica Medvec (Tualatin,
OR) spelled out the final score with one goal each.
The Bulldogs faced just three shots on goal all evening, as
senior goalkeeper Whitney Schieler (Porterville, CA), junior
goalkeeper Tiana Singley (Benicia, CA) and freshman goalkeeper
Cecile Gernez (Mountain View, CA) made one stop apiece in the cage
to combine for the shutout.
Panna Felsen turned away 10 shots protecting the Caltech net.
Redlands (13-12, 4-2 SCIAC) took sole possession of fourth in
the conference standings after Cal Lutheran University downed
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, 10-8, earlier in the evening. The
Bulldogs next face Occidental College in Eagle Rock on Saturday
(April 24) at 11 a.m.
