The University of Redlands women's water polo team dropped its
Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC)
opener to Pomona-Pitzer Colleges by a 6-9 verdict Saturday
afternoon at the Thompson Aquatic Center.
Sophomore center Jaime Nippert (Gresham, OR) and sophomore
driver Joy Corona (Lake Bluff, IL) each scored twice, while
sophomore center Jamie Paul (Boring, OR) and freshman driver Jill
Stein (Palm Desert, CA) added one goal apiece. Guarding the Bulldog
cage, senior goalkeeper Whitney Schieler (Porterville, CA) turned
away 10 Sagehen shot attempts.
Pomona-Pitzer's Perri Hopkins notched the game-high total in
goals with three.
Redlands (9-11, 0-1 SCIAC) returns to the Thompson Aquatic
Center on Wednesday (April 7) at 5 p.m. when it faces Cal Lutheran
University.
