The University of Redlands women's water polo team recorded a pair of victories in Saturday's action at the Thompson Aquatic Center, edging Whittier College in a tight 10-9 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) match before capturing a solid 14-7 decision against regional rival Chapman University.

Against Whittier, the Bulldogs gained an impressive six-goal explosion from junior center Jaime Nippert (Gresham, OR) to lead all scorers. Junior driver Casey Sripramong (Glendale, CA), sophomore driver Georgia Tunioli (Riverside, CT), junior center Joy Corona (Lake Bluff, IL), and junior driver Jamie Paul (Sandy, OR) each contributed one score in the tight competition.
Freshman goalkeeper Julie Lupfer (San Diego, CA) protected the Redlands cage by making nine stops in a complete game.
Redlands returned to action later that afternoon, taking on non-conference opponent Chapman. The Bulldogs benefited from a diverse scoring attack with sophomore driver Moana Tuipulotu (Lahaina, HI) leading the charge with four goals. Corona supplied a hat trick, while Paul and sophomore center-defender Jill Stein (Palm Desert, CA) chipped in two apiece. In addition, junior driver Dianna Melancon (Riverside, CA), sophomore center-defender Mandy Nussbaum (Bellevue, WA) and senior driver Tory Haynes (Valley Center, CA) each found the back of the net once.
Senior goalkeeper Tiana Singley (Benicia, CA) took over the goalkeeping duties for Redlands, tallying six saves in the win.
The Bulldogs (16-8, 3-0 SCIAC) head to Pomona-Pitzer Colleges for an important SCIAC dual match against the Sagehens on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
