VENTURA, Calif. – The University of Redlands Men's Golf team opened up their fall 2024 schedule earlier this week with a fifth place finish at the CA State Intercollegiate hosted by California Lutheran University at Olivas Links Golf Club.
Following day one, which included two rounds, the Bulldogs sat in sixth place after shooting a one under 287. But a second round 311 put them well back of the leaders. Tuesday they shot an eight over 296 for a three round total of 894.
Damon Bartells (Sacaramento, CA) was the top individual finisher for the Bulldogs as he took 14th after shooting a 221 (69-80-72). His first round 69 ties him for the 29th lowest individual performer in program history.
Jonas DeLeon (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) took 16th after a consistent 222 (73-75-74) in which he finished within three of par all three rounds.
The final two scorers were Jake Yim (Lake Oswego, OR) and Aaron Buck (Tualatin, OR) who came in 27th and 31st. Yim shot a 226 (75-76-75) and Buck finished with a 228 (70-83-75).
First-year Cohen Gladheim (Sherwood, OR) was the last to score placing 40th with a 233 (77-80-76).
The Bulldogs will have this coming weekend off before they travel to Oregon for the Orange & Black Invitational hosted by Lewis & Clark College at the Tualatin Country Club on Monday-Tuesday, September 23-24.
