TUALATIN, Ore. – Aaron Buck (Tualatin, OR) led the University of Redlands Men's Golf team to their first win of the fall season at the Lewis & Clark Orange and Black Invitational Tuesday afternoon as he finished with a two-round 140 (69-71) winning by three strokes.
As a team the Bulldogs trailed Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) by two strokes after round one, but returned on day two shooting the lowest round of the tournament, helping the Maroon and Grey come away with an eight stroke victory over Whitman College. Their first round was a 294 followed by a 286, giving them a total of 580, 18 strokes better than their first two rounds two weeks ago at the CA State Intercollegiate.
Finishing as the second highest Bulldog was Jake Yim (Lake Oswego, OR) in sixth place. He shot a 145 (75-70) and moved up nine spots thanks to his second round 70.
Jonas DeLeon (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) and Damon Bartells (Sacramento, CA) took 10th and 13th with a 147 (76-71) and a 148 (74-74).
William Rinehart (Denver, CO) was 28th as an independent with a 155 (79-76). First-Year Cohen Gladheim (Sherwood, OR) was also 28th with a 155 (76-79) and Mario Dino (Denver, CO) finished 40th as an independent with a 157 (77-80).
Redlands will come home to host the Bulldogs Fall Invite next Monday-Tuesday, September 30-October 1 at Morongo Golf Club in Beaumont.
