SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of Redlands Men's Golf team tied for the second-lowest third round at the Carla Spenkoch Invitational Tuesday morning as they came in sixth place overall with an 893 (299-305-289).
Redlands finished six strokes behind third place University of Dallas. Their third round 289 was tied with co-first place champions LeTourneau University for second on the day.
The Bulldogs' lone Top-5 finisher was Jay Wing (Riverside, CA) who finished at or below par during all three of his rounds bringing his total to 212 (71-70-71). Wing bogeyed three of his first nine holes before dropping three strokes on his final nine.
Cohen Gladheim (Sherwood, OR) took 14th with a 218 (73-73-72). He played a very clean final round with 13 pars, two birdies, and three bogeys. He had all three of his bogeys after 12 holes but finished with four pars and two birdies dropping two strokes off his total.
In 33rd place was William Rinehart (Denver, CO) with a 233 (77-83-73). He did not bogey a hole until his 13th when he tripled Hole 12. His final three holes went birdie, bogey, double as he went from three under to two over, though, his 73 was still his lowest of the invitational.
Himmat Singh (Santa Barbara, CA) followed Rinehart in posting his strongest round Tuesday, shooting a 73 to finish 36th with a 235 (81-81-73). Two birdies on his final six holes helped him to only two over on the day.
Jesse Pelletier (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) shot 240 (78-81-81) and came in 40th. He had a par on eight of his first 11 holes before five bogeys cost him six strokes on his final seven.
The Bulldogs are now done with their fall schedule having competed in California, Florida, and Texas across 22 days.
