PASADENA, Calif. – In the first year of the new Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) meet rules for Track & Field, the University of Redlands men's team took first out of four teams with 211 points and the women's team finished second with 222 points. The combined standings had the Bulldogs in second with 433 points.
Men
The Bulldogs won the competition by 16 points over Chapman University with the University of La Verne in third with 88 points and host Caltech in fourth with 74.
Jaiden Coleman (Las Vegas, NV) won the 100m Hurdles (11.21), took fourth in the 200m (22.98), and was one of the four, along with Aram Sarkissian (Newbury, CA), Lukas Gamans (Claremont, CA), Coleman, and Jenner Sherman (Eugene, OR), who won the 4x100 relay (42.91). Derek Pangilinan (Rosamond, CA) added another high finish in the sprints following a runner-up finish in the 200m (22.66).
Sarkissian added to his relay contribution with a personal best and second place finish in the 400m (49.11). He also helped the 4x400 relay team win (3:19.06). He was joined by Jude Holling (Sylmar, CA), Patrick Lang II (San Antonio, TX), and Sarkissian.
Lang II added points as a scorer in the 400m (3rd | 49.73) and Triple Jump (4th | 12.51m, 41' 0.5").
In the middle and long distances Ronan Byrne (Portola Valley, CA) took fifth in the 800m (2:00.09) and third in the 1500m (4:01.63). David Huggins (Texarkana, TX) took second in the 5000m (15:13.66) and Joseph O'Donnell (Fullerton, CA) was second in the 3000 Steeplechase (10:02.32). Huggins' time is the 10th fastest in program history.
Holling won the 110 Hurdles (15.11) and took second in the 400 Hurdles (56.69), both were run with personal best times.
Jacob Huset (Tacoma, WA) had a big day with a second place finish in the 110 Hurdles (15.40), third place finish in the High Jump (1.90m, 6' 2.75"), sixth place in the Pole Vault (4.05m, 13' 3.5"), and won the Long Jump (6.38m, 20' 11.25").
Corte Peterson (Tabernash, CO) took third in the Pole Vault (4.50m, 14' 9") and finished as the runner-up in the Long Jump (6.33m, 20' 9.25").
Tyler Davies (Lake Forest, CA) and Christian Ferguson (Chula Vista, CA) led the throws. Davies was second in the Shot Put (13.76m, 45' 1.75"), sixth in the Discus (37.38m, 122' 8"), and fourth in the Hammer (43.16m, 141' 7"). Ferguson posted finishes of third in the Shotput (13.39m, 43' 11.25"), eighth in the Discus (36.0m, 118' 1"), and second in the Hammer (48.06m, 157' 8"). Ferguson's Hammer Throw is the eighth best in program history.
Women
The Bulldogs were 32 points back of Chapman, 168 points clear of Caltech, and 185 points ahead of La Verne.
Maigan Adams (Los Angeles, CA) continued her dominant start to 2025 with wins in the Long Jump (5.26m, 17' 3.25") and Triple Jump (11.21m, 36' 9.5") and a pair of runner-up finishes in the 100m (12.60) and 4x100 relay (48.85). The rest of the relay team included Abi Ibarra (Littleton, CO), Sabrina Tanouye (Elkhart Lake, WI), Sabrina Semmere (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA), and Adams.
Chloe Bullock (Hood River, OR) also posted a strong day with wins in the 800m (2:19.09) and 1500m (4:48.11 – personal best). She took second with the 4x400 relay team (4:01.21). Her and the quartet of Ibarra, Faith Kasper (Menifee, CA), and Semmere posted the 10th fastest time in program history.
Adding to the Top-10 times was Abigail (AJ) Johnson (Westborough, MA) who won the 5000m (18:22.93) with the new No. 10 ranked time in program history.
Elisabeth Eichinger (Yucaipa, CA) won the 100 Hurdles (16.00), took third place in the High Jump (1.45m, 4' 9"), and finished as the runner-up in the Long Jump (5.00m, 16' 5") and Shot Put (10.30m, 33' 9.5").
The third Top-10 time/mark of the day for the Bulldogs came courtesy of Mari Evonuk (Sherwood, OR) who won the High Jump with a 160m (5' 3") mark that moves her into a tie for seventh place in program history.
Ellie Mann (Portland, OR) led the throwers with three Top-4 finishes. She took third in the Shot Put (9.98m, 32' 9"), had a personal best and a second place finish in the Discus (33.66m, 110' 5"), and posted a second personal best in a fourth place finish in the Hammer (33.86m, 111' 1"). Keegan Sherry (Shoreline, WA) chipped in a win and a personal best in the Javelin (34.66m, 113' 8").
The outdoor athletes will compete at the Oxy Distance Carnival next Saturday, March 8 in Los Angeles, while the indoor athletes have the final qualifying meet for the NCAA Division III National Championships on March 7-8 in Ripon, Wisconsin.
