REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Men's Basketball team begins their first NCAA Tournament since 2013 with a first round match-up against Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Friday, March 7 at 1:05 p.m. pacific time at host Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts.
The Bulldogs are 22-4 and earned an at-large selection into the championships after finishing No. 26 in the NPI rankings. The NPI rankings determine the 64-team field with 43 automatic bids given to the 43 conference champions and the next 21 highest ranked teams making the field as opposed to previous years when the committee picked the 21 at-large teams. Redlands had four All-SCIAC selections led by Omari Ferguson who was the SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Year. He was also named 1st Team All-SCIAC joining Chozen Amadi (1st Team), Lucas Gordon (1st Team) and Kendrick Currey (2nd Team).
This season the Monks are 24-4 and qualified with the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) automatic bid after defeating Lasell University in the championship game.

Tournament Format
The winner of this game will play the winner of Tufts and Yeshiva University on Saturday, March 8 with the time to be announced. That second round winner moves on to the sectionals.
