AZUSA, Calif. – The University of Redlands Track and Field team sent two middle distance runners and their 4x400 relay teams to the Bryan Clay Invitational Friday where Ronan Byrne (Portola Valley, CA) and the Women's 4x400 relay team posted new Top-10 times.
Men
Byrne ran a 3:50.63 in the 1500m finishing 44th with the fourth fastest time in program history. Only three runners ahead of him were not higher NCAA Division athletes or postgraduates.
The 4x400 relay team of Jude Holling (Sylmar, CA), Derek Pangilinan (Rosamond, CA), Patrick Lang II (San Antonio, TX), and Aram Sarkissian (Newbury Park, CA) took ninth with a time of 3:15.70, 1.17 seconds off the 10th fastest time in program history.
Women
Eve Mavy ran the 1500m where she finished 68th in 4:59.49. Sixty of the finishing runners came from higher NCAA Divisions or were postgraduates.
The 4x400 relay team of Ella Bachmeier (Rancho Capistrano, CA), Faith Kasper (Menifee, CA), Sabrina Semmere (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA), and Elisabeth Eichinger (Yucaipa, CA) ran a 3:54.44 placing 16th with what is the new fourth fastest time in program history. Also, all but three teams ahead of them were higher division schools.
The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships await the Bulldogs next weekend on April 26-27 at Occidental College.
