GENEVA, Ohio – Allyn Asberry-Blanco (Orange County, NY) and Maigan Adams (Los Angeles, CA) put together a strong showing at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships both earning 2nd Team All-American recognition in the Triple Jump Saturday.
Asberry-Blanco finished 13th overall with his best mark coming on his third and final attempt when he jumped 14.63m, 48' 0". He fouled on his first attempt before posting a 14.16m, 46' 5.5" mark on his second try. He just missed making the Top-9 and the podium by 0.19 m. The final athlete to make the finals had a mark of 14.82m, 48' 7.5". The finals would have provided three additional attempts.
Adams snagged the 16th and final All-American position with a third attempt at 11.77m, 38' 7.5". She posted a mark of 11.16m, 36' 7.5" on her first attempt before a foul came on her second. She missed the ninth and final qualifying position by 0.27m. She finishes her career with three All-American awards.
Asberry-Blanco, Adams, Corte Peterson (Tabernash, CO) and Ella Bachmeier (Rancho Capistrano, CA), give the Bulldogs four All-Americans at the Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Of the seven competitors, Elisabeth Eichinger (Yucaipa, CA) and Mari Evonuk (Sherwood, OR) both have remaining eligibility, the other five are seniors and conclude their careers.
