ABCA All-Region Defensive Team Release
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) announced the 2025 ABCA All-Region Defensive Teams and making it from Region 10 for the University of Redlands was outfielder Luke De Vries (Irvine, CA) and catcher Kaiya Saito (Bellevue, WA).
De Vries earns his second all-defensive team selection after doing so as a junior in 2023. In 2025 he was perfect on his 123 chances, recording putouts on all 123. De Vries had a season-high eight putouts against Whittier College and had a total of 16 games with four or more. He finished his career with a .992 fielding percentage with three assists.
Saito makes his first all-defensive team. He was second on the team with 181 total chances. He put away 155 himself with 24 assists and only two errors committed for a .989 fielding percentage from behind the plate. He threw out 12 of 29 attempting base stealers too. Against Franklin & Marshall College he had a season-high 10 putouts and a season-high four assists against Luther College and Chapman University. After allowing seven stolen bases on nine attempts in his first three games, he threw out 50 percent of attempting base stealers the remainder of the season with a 10-for-20 mark. In his career he threw out 22 total base runners.
The Bulldogs were one of only two schools from Region 10 to have multiple selections, Pomona-Pitzer was the other.
