HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – The University of Redlands Men's Golf completed the third and final round of the NCAA Division III Fall Preview in 20th place with a 905 (297-303-305).
The Bulldogs finished 43 strokes behind the event winner Emory University as all 24 teams failed to shoot under par. The Top 10 were 31 strokes ahead of Redlands.
Jay Wing (Riverside, CA) maintained his top spot for the Bulldogs as the highest finisher in 50th place with a 223 (68-76-79). He finished his final round with a birdie and seven bogeys.
The second highest Bulldog was Cohen Gladheim (Sherwood, OR) in 61st place with a 225 (73-76-76). He did not record a birdie on the day, but he only had four bogeys with another 14 pars.
Moving up 11 positions from round two was Logan Benintend (Carlsbad, CA) who finishes 80th with a 228 (78-76-74). He was the lone Bulldog to lower his total each round. He had three birdies and three bogeys on his final 18.
William Rinehart (Denver, CO) took 106th with a 236 (78-82-76). He had two birdies and four bogeys through nine holes before finishing with a birdie and seven pars on his final 10.
A stroke back of Rinehart was Ben Tieu (Tualatin, OR) in 109th with a 237 (81-75-81). His final 18 holes included seven bogeys, nine pars, and two birdies.
After two events, six rounds, and two states of competition over the last nine days the Bulldogs will get just under two weeks of time off before they fly out to Texas for the Alamo City Classic hosted by Trinity University (Texas) in San Antonio. This event will take place October 6-7 at The Quarry G.C.
