Redlands Women's Golf takes 10th at The Hollins Cup | Christenson places fourth overall

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – The University of Redlands women's golf team ended the fall portion of their 2026-27 schedule by taking 10th place at the Hollins Cup hosted by the University of California, Santa Cruz Monday-Tuesday, shooting a 651 (333-318).

The Bulldogs placed behind teams that finished first, second, fifth, seventh, eighth, ninth, and 11th in the final Clippd Scoreboard rankings last spring.

Round 1 – 10th place (333)

During the first round the Bulldogs sat in 10th with a 26-stroke gap between them and third place Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS).

Savanah Christenson (Upland, CA) sat inside the Top-20 with a 77. She had a clean opening 12 holes with only one bogey, but three across her final six holes dropped her from reaching the Top-10.

Cecili Hayes (Vancouver, WA) and Kylie McGrath (Renton, WA) each shot 81's. Hayes bogeyed five of her first eight holes before a stretch of three pars and a birdie helped stabilize her round. McGrath had a better opening with a birdie and five pars through eight holes. Her last 10, however, cost her seven of her nine strokes on the day.

The last scorer during round one was Maria Hernandez (Houston, TX). She ended with a 94, and despite a tough first 13 holes, she finished strong with her first birdie and two of her three pars.  Kennady Hottel (Lake Oswego, OR) also competed for the Maroon and Grey shooting a 95, which placed her in 64th.  She had a birdie on 17 and two pars on the back nine.

Round 2 – 10th place (318)

The Bulldogs improved 15 strokes during their second round. Leading the charge was Christenson who shot an even par 72 and finished with a 149, good enough for a fourth-place finish. She used three birdies and three pars over her final six holes to get back to even.

Hayes tied for 20th with a 76, giving her a two-round total of 157 (81-76). All three of her birdies came on her last 10 holes.

In a tied for 32nd was McGrath after her 79 (160). She had a great back nine where she posted six pars and her lone birdie.

Hernandez took 63rd with a 185 (94-91). She finished with six pars, five of which came across her final 10 holes.  Hottel again shot a 95 placing her in 64th, adding four pars on the day, two coming on each side.

The Bulldogs return to competition during the spring half of their season, which begins in February.
