VENTURA, Calif. – The University of Redlands women's golf team opened their 2026-27 season with a first round 308 at the CA State Intercollegiate Monday afternoon at Olivas Links Golf Club where they currently sit in fourth place.
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) leads after 18 holes with a 282, while University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) is in second with a 288 and Pomona-Pitzer in third with a 292.
The highest-ranking Bulldog is Savanah Christenson (Upland, CA) who is tied for 12th with a two-over 74. She began her morning on Hole 10 and would shoot only one over with a single bogey on the back nine. On the front side she had three pars and was again one over.
Three spots back in a tie for 15th is Kylie McGrath (Renton, WA). She is four over with a 76. She bogeyed three of her first six holes before five pars and two birdies dropped a stroke off her total. Despite bogeys on her fourth and third-to-last holes, she parred and birdied her final two.
Tied for 18th is Cecili Hayes (Vancouver, WA). She shot a 77 and parred or birdied 10 of her final 13 holes after beginning three over after five holes.
The final scoring Bulldog was Maria Hernandez (Houston, TX) in 33rd. In her first collegiate tournament she shot an 81 with three pars all of which came on her final 13 holes.
The other two Bulldogs who competed included Evie Denton (Rome, NY) and Kennady Hottel (Lake Oswego, OR). Denton is currently in 46th after shooting an 88 and Hottel, who is playing as an individual posted an 80.
Redlands begins their final round Tuesday morning as they look to make move in the individual and team standings.
