RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Savanah Christenson (Upland, CA) and Chloe Phan (Milpitas, CA) tied for third place at the West Coast Classic Tuesday afternoon helping the University of Redlands Women's Golf team finish in second-place.
The Bulldogs shot a 306 during round two, the third-lowest on the day, and a 608 (302-306) overall as they finished five strokes back of No. 4 Pomona-Pitzer.
Christenson ended her tournament with a 74, which brought her two-round total to 150 (76-74). After a consistent front nine where she had eight pars, she would go on to par two holes on the back side, while posting all three of her birdies.
Phan shot a 76 for a 150 (74-76) across 36 holes. She bogeyed three of her first four holes before a run of six consecutive clean holes. She then had all three of her birdies across her final six holes.
Jizelle Robledo (Fontana, CA) tied for seventh with a 152 (74-78). She had three birdies and nine pars on her round. Kylie McGrath (Renton, WA) finished 16th as she matched her first round 78 with another one for a 156. Then in a strong 21st place was Cecili Hayes (Vancouver, WA) who shot a 79 droppingfour strokes for a 162 (83-79).
Redlands gets this weekend off before traveling to Ventura for the first Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) tournament of the season on February 21-22 at Olivas Links G.C.
