RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Golf team opened their 2026 portion of their season at Canyon Crest Country Club with a strong start during the West Coast Classic posting a 302 after 18 holes on Monday putting them atop the leaderboard.
Chloe Phan (Milpitas, CA) and Jizelle Robledo (Fontana, CA) are co-leaders after they both shot 74's. Phan birdied two of her first three holes. Then after a string of three bogeys across seven holes, she ended her round with two pars and a birdie across her final three holes.
Robledo dropped a stroke only once through her first nine holes. Her birdie came on two and was followed by a streak of six-straight clean holes to end her day.
Savanah Christenson (Upland, CA) is the third Bulldog inside the Top-4 currently sitting in fourth place with a 76. She was a stroke over par after 14 holes, but she ended her afternoon with three consecutive bogeys, which dropped her out of first place.
The final two Bulldogs to score were Kylie McGrath (Renton, WA) in 12th place with a 78 and Cecili Hayes (Vancouver, WA) in 23rd with an 83. McGrath sat at par after eight holes thanks to three birdies. Her final eight holes, however, included three double bogeys, which cost her a spot inside the Top-10.
Hayes started and ended her day with birdies, which helped offset eight bogeys.
Redlands finishes their first tournament of the year tomorrow, Tuesday, February 10 as they look to hold off Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) rival No. 4 Pomona-Pitzer who is five strokes back.
