ARCADIA, Calif. – The University of Redlands women's golf team shot a 297 and currently sit in third place, but within eight strokes of the leader, after 18 holes at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships.
No. 10 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) holds a seven-stroke lead over No. 5 Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) and No. 28 California Lutheran University (CLU) is five strokes behind the Bulldogs in fourth place.
Savanah Christenson (Upland, CA), Jizelle Robledo (Fontana, CA), and Kylie McGrath (Renton, WA) all shot 74's putting them all in a tie for sixth, seven strokes out of the lead but only three behind third place.
Christenson had a par on Hole two and finished her final 11 holes with eight pars and two birdies.
Robledo began her day with four pars, but bogeys on five, seven, and eight pushed her three over. She stabilized her play from the ninth hole on with three birdies and five pars.
McGrath had an up and down first 18 holes with five birdies, six pars, and seven bogeys. Despite the up and down play, she was never more than three over.
Cecili Hayes (Vancouver, WA) is tied for 10th with a 75. She had back-to-back holes with bogeys, but the other 14 holes she had 13 pars and one birdie on 16.
Chloe Phan (Milpitas, CA), who is tied for 13th after shooting a 76, which included one birdie and five pars will be the first Bulldog to tee off Friday morning at 10:45 a.m. at Santa Anita Golf Course.
