ARCADIA, Calif. – The University of Redlands women's golf team remains in third place with a 598 (297-301) at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships with one round remaining.
No. 10 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) leads the field by one stroke over No. 5 Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) and 17 over the Bulldogs. Redlands, though, has created a 10-stroke cushion over No. 28 California Lutheran University (CLU).
The Bulldogs are led by Jizelle Robledo (Fontana, CA) who is tied for sixth with a 147 (74-73). She had a birdie and one bogey on her front nine before three bogeys pushed her to three over after 13 holes. She pulled a pair of strokes back on 17 and 18 as she birdied both to finish the round one over.
Savanah Christenson (Upland, CA) is tied for eighth with a 148 (74-74). She had a very similar scorecard as round one with another three birdies and 10 pars.
Kylie McGrath (Renton, WA) shot a 76 for a two-round total of 150 (74-76). She shot four over par across her first eight holes. She then had only one bogey on her final 10 holes and posted three of her four birdies.
With Chloe Phan (Milpitas, CA) not playing her second round, Cecili Hayes (Vancouver, WA) moved up to fourth and was the final scorer for Redlands. She posted a 153 (75-78) after 36 holes. She has a total of eight bogeys through two rounds, which are fewest on the team, but a single birdie has kept her from stealing back strokes as she is 15th, though, she needs only four strokes to catch the Top-10.
Redlands completes the SCIAC Championships Saturday morning with first tee time set for 9:35am beginning with Phan.
