REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Golf team will compete at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships at Santa Anita Golf Course going Thursday-Saturday, April 23-25 hosted by Occidental College.

The championships will determine SCIAC's automatic qualifying (AQ) team for the NCAA Division III National Championships in May. SCIAC No. 1 and No. 2 will not factor into the final standings, just the standalone three-round championship.

At SCIAC No. 1 the Bulldogs tied for second with a 608 (301-307). Chloe Phan (Milpitas, CA), Kylie McGrath (Renton, WA), and Jizelle Robledo (Fontana, CA) all finished inside the Top-7 with Phan finishing tied for fifth (151) and McGrath (152) and Robledo (152) tying for seventh.

At the start of April in Beaumont, the Bulldogs finished third with a 659 (340-319) as they had to work around tough windy conditions that inflated final scores. McGrath was the highest finisher in a tie for ninth with a 165 (83-82).

The winner of the championship will advance to the NCAA Division III National Championships as one of 25 conference champions that automatically qualify. The next nine highest ranked non-AQ teams will earn a bid as well. A yet to be determined number of highest-ranking individuals not on a qualifying team will also be selected. Last year there were six individuals.

Redlands currently ranks No. 11 in the Division III National Polls. The Bulldogs, at No. 15 last season, were the lowest ranked team to earn an At-Large selection, so they are probably in right now if they maintain their ranking, which will be aided by a field that includes No. 5 Pomona-Pitzer and No. 10 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
