AUSTIN, Texas – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced their 2026 Baseball Academic All-District members with Tanner Currier (Brawley, CA), Mason Chetcuti (Redwood City, CA), Nate Miller (San Jose, CA), Tyler Barsness (Palm Desert, CA), and Sean McCance (Irvine, CA) earning the honor for the University of Redlands.
Currier is a first-year eligible recipient. He is a Business Administration major. During his sophomore season he had a 5.86 earned run average (ERA) across 35.1 innings with a perfect 5-0 record.
Earning his first selection is junior Kinesiology major Chetcuti. As a full-time starter for the first time this season as a catcher, he hit .290 with a .415 on-base percentage (OBP), with 13 runs batted in (RBI's), and 27 runs scored.
The lone returning Academic All-District member is Miller who is also eligible for the CSC Academic All-America ballot with the All-Americans being announced June 23. As a junior, the Engineering major led, or was second, for the Bulldogs in most offensive categories. He led the team in batting average (.355) and OBP (.439) and was second in slugging percentage (.665), on-base plus slugging (OPS) (1.104), doubles (13), home runs (11), and RBI's (42). His home runs are tied for fourth most in single-season program history.
Barsness, a sophomore Business Administration major, finished his second season as a Bulldog with a .314 average, .416 OBP, and .808 OPS. He added eight doubles and eight steals across 29 games.
McCance, a senior business administration major, finished his final season with Redlands hitting .231 with a .384 OBP. He added seven extra base hits, 12 RBI's, and 19 runs scored. Now graduated, McCance plans to go into a career in Sales or Marketing.
Everyone except McCance has remaining eligibility for the Bulldogs in 2027.
