PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The University of Redlands Track and Field teams sent four athletes to the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships with all four earning All-American recognition.
Day 1
Ella Bachmeier (Rancho Capistrano, CA) earned 2nd Team All-American honors as she finished 14th in the Pentathlon with 3,347 points. In the five-event competition she finished eighth in the 60m Hurdles with a time of 9.16. In the High Jump she was 19th with a height of 1.42m. She bounced back with 583 points in the Shot Put where she threw 10.82m, 35' 6" on her first attempt, which moves her from 10th in program history to fifth.
In the fourth event in the Long Jump, she took 11th and scored 626 points following a second jump of 5.24m, 17' 2.25". To cap off the events she added 727 points with a time of 2:27.32 in the 800m. Her time was good enough for eighth fastest in the competition.
In the men's combined events Jacob Huset (Tacoma, WA) completed four of the seven events in the Heptathlon as he sat in 1st Team All-American position in seventh place with 2846 points.
His day got off to a great start after taking fourth place in the 60m with a time of 7.10. The time earned him 847 points and ties him for the ninth fastest time in program history. The first field event of the competition came in the Long Jump where he posted a 6.45m, 21' 2" jump on his second attempt for 686 points and a 12th place finish.
The second field event followed with the Shot Put. Once again his best attempt came on his second try when he threw 11.45m, 37' 6.75". He took 13th place and added 573 points to his total. In the fourth and final event of the first day Huset tied for third in the High Jump. He cleared his fifth height of 1.93m, 6' 4" on his first attempt, which scored 740 points.
Day 2
Huset opened the final day of the championships with the 60m Hurdles where he finished sixth with an 8.45. The time brought his total points to 3,718 and moved him up three places in the overall standings into fourth place.
In the final field event, the ever tricky Pole Vault, he cleared 4.00m, 13' 1.5" finishing eighth with 617 points. To wrap up his competition he ran ninth in the 100m with a time of 2:54.00, the second fastest in program history. The race earned him 724 points, bringing his total to a new program record of 5,059 and placing him seventh overall, earning him 1st Team All-American honors, his first in his career.
Prior to the completion of the Heptathlon Maigan Adams (Los Angeles, CA) began her Triple Jump preliminary round. On her first attempt she jumped 11.10m, 36' 5" but sat in 16th place. She jumped six positions into 10th with a second jump of 11.89m, 39' 0.25". Then on her final attempt she was unable to improve upon her second jump as she could not break into the top-nine to make it into the finals. Her finish does earn her 2nd Team All-American honors.
The fourth Bulldog to compete was freshman Mari Evonuk (Sherwood, OR) in the High Jump. She cleared the opening height of 1.60m, 5' 3" on her first attempt, but she was unsuccessful at the subsequent height of 1.65m, 5' 5" as she took 14th place, good enough for 2nd Team All-American honors in her first championship.
Redlands' indoor season comes to a close with 40 new Top-10 times/marks in the men's record books. Huset ends his final indoor season with six Top-10 records: 60m (7.10 | 9th), 1000m (2:54.00 | 2nd), 60m Hurdles (8.37 | 1st), Pole Vault (4.12m | 5th), Shot Put (11.73m, 9th), and Heptathlon (5059 | 1st).
In the women's Top-10 34 new times/marks were added. Bachmeier posted five: 200m (26.68 | 5th), 800m (2:26.61 | 2nd), 60m Hurdles (8.86 | 4th), Shot Put (10.82m | 5th), and Pentathlon (3392 | 2nd). Adams had three: 60m (7.91 | 4th), Long Jump (5.48m | 3rd), and Triple Jump (11.94m | 1st) and Evonuk also with three: 800m (3:01.91 | 10th), High Jump (1.69m | 2nd), and Pentathlon (2423 | 7th).
This quartet and the rest of the Bulldogs push for qualification for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships taking place in May (Ohio). The next outdoor meet will be Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Quad Cup No. 2 inside Ted Runner Stadium on Saturday, March 29 beginning at 4:00 p.m.
