INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA announced the selections for the NCAA Division III Women's Golf National Championships with the University of Redlands earning the eighth and final At-Large selection as the No. 11 ranked team in the country.
The NCAA Championships are being hosted at Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert next week, May 19-22. The championships will be contested over 72 holes with a cut to the Top-15 teams and top six individuals not on those teams after 36 holes.
The Bulldogs have finished inside the Top-3 of events seven times this year and they have five golfers ranked nationally. Savanah Christenson (Upland, CA) leads the way at No. 55 followed by Chloe Phan (Milpitas, CA) at No. 58, Jizelle Robledo (Fontana, CA) at No. 59, Kylie McGrath (Renton, WA) at No. 94, and Cecili Hayes (Vancouver, WA) at No. 172.
As a team they shot a 287 at the Westbrook Village Invitational in Peoria, Arizona, which was the joint third-lowest single round total in program history. Their three round 899 at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships is also the sixth-lowest.
