REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands cross country programs open 2026 with their annual Redlands Invitational on September 5, which starts and ends inside Ted Runner Stadium.
The Redlands Invitational is meet one of seven during the regular season with another two in the postseason.
Last fall at the Redlands Invite the Bulldog men took home the title and the women finished second. Stian Asper and David Huggins went 1-2 for the men and Kiera Beyer won the women's race.
On September 12 the Bulldogs make the short trip north to San Bernardino for the California State University, San Bernardino Coyote Challenge. Last season the men finished second and the women were fourth. Asper was the highest finisher on the men's side in ninth and Beyer was at the top for the women in 18th.
The Maroon and Grey's third meet in as many weekends comes on September 19 in Riverside at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) Invitational. At the national meet last season the Bulldogs took 20th in both races.
Following an off weekend to end September, Redlands will travel out of state for a regular season meet on October 3 when they travel to Washington for the Whitworth University Invitational. It is the same location as the NCAA West Regional set later in the fall. It will also be the first trip to Washington since 2018 for the west regional in Walla Walla.
When they return home the following weekend on Oct. 10, the Bulldogs will compete in Claremont at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational. Last season the men took 15th with Brock Norseth the top finisher in 86th place. They sent only one runner for the women's race.
Redlands' second and final time in Riverside will come on October 17 at the UCR Highlander Invitational. The men were 15th last fall and the women fifth. Asper led the men in 25th, Beyer and Eve Mavy led the women in 16th and 17th-place, respectively.
Following a second bye week, the Bulldogs run at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships on Friday, October 30. The men took fourth and the women seventh in 2025. Asper was third and Beyer 34th.
The NCAA West Regional Championships will be in Spokane Valley, Washington on November 14. There the U of R will look to qualify for the NCAA Division III National Championships. Last November Redlands was 10th and 17th as a team with Asper (ninth) and Mavy (58th) out in front individually.
If anyone qualifies, the NCAA Championships are hosted by St. Olaf College on November 21 in Northfield, Minnesota. Asper was the lone qualifier last year. He took 65th as the first man to qualify since Tucker Cargile in 2021. Chloe Bullock and Mavy in 2024 were the last women to qualify.
